It will be interesting to see what happens to the numbers over the course of
the day, as the folks who aren't hardcore weekend users jump into the fray
(as well as any astroturfing that goes on)...
Of *course* it's not scientific, of *course* folks are going to pass it
around *on both sides*. Of course, that latter tends to balance things out,
because believe it or not there are folks out there that feel just as
strongly about the supremacy of the Raptor as we do about the Penguin. But,
no, you could only do this scientifically if you control the choice of
survey victims yourself; anything that's self-selecting doesn't fly.
(Of course, that's also why political phone polls don't fly; you can only call
during "reasonable hours", and you can't call business locations, so you're
only going to get people who are *at home* and willing to put up with a
survey. But I digress.)
