I am looking at buying a new laptop and wanted to make sure this time I
don't have to fight to get things working, so I wanted to touch base and
see if anyone had some good suggestions.
I see from the list that Lenovo doesn't offer their Suse laptops
anymore, so I was looking at Dell's XPS M1530 as its the only big name
one I found with the WUXGA screens (I like the resolution fairly high.
My curent 17" is at 1920x1200). I have looked at several non-mainstream
brands such as Systems76 and a few others but their prices seemed a bit
higher for comparable specs as the Dell.
My last 2 laptops have been Sager's, and while I love the laptops and
how much more you get for the prices, I had serious support issues with
this last one. Not with Sager itself, but the extended warranty I
purchased was not worth the paper it was written on when the 3rd party
company that issues the warranties went bankrupt. That has kept me a
litle shy of the smaller companies especially with the economy the way
it is.
Any thoughts, suggestions, experiences, etc...that might help me decide
which way I need to go?
Thanks in advance.
Anthony
