You've taken a few limited observations and spun them into a sensationalist theory, and now you're reporting it as fact without any real verification. This is pretty slimy FUD. Instead of writing a fear-mongering article and asking people to Digg it, you should be calling OLPC and learning the truth about what's going on.
I have not stated any theory. I merely posted what was represented to
me by an OLPC representative. If you look in the follow-up comments
to my LJ posting, it appears that someone received similar information
from an alternate source and admits of the customer ordering issues on
the first day. I have spoken to more people about this issue than you
probably realize and it would be wise to hear and official response
from OLPC about it. However, it is nearly impossible to get in touch
with then as you probably already know. The problem demands
answering, and I don't feel that I have made a mistake about raising
the issue. You may have your own thoughts, and that is fine. Please
email me off-list and we can discuss any points of contention...
