There will be more Android devices by the end of the year. Possibly as many as 18 devices from multiple manufacturers. There should be Android phones on AT&T and Sprint before too long.
Today you have the option of buying an Android Developer Phone (ADP) which is what I have done. The ADP is nice b/c it is an unlocked GSM phone and you don't have to use any ugly hacks to get root access to the device. The G2 (Dream) is a nice piece of hardware but you would have to get an unlocked t-mobile device. The downside to running the ADP or other t-mobile devices on America's other GSM carrier (AT&T) is that they do not support the required frequencies for UMTS and HSPDA access so your only data access is GPRS and EDGE (hello 2002).
